Turn off the electronics.
The end of the night might mean binging on your favorite Netflix show or scrolling through social media on your phone. Unfortunately, the light that emits from electronic devices can affect your sleep patterns. Turning off the phone, television, and iPad can help focus your energy on what you really need to start the slumber: pillows, blankets, and a comfortable bed!
Try a weighted blanket.
Weighted blankets may seem like the latest trend, but they really do help reduce anxiety and can help you get some well-needed rest. Order a blanket that is approximately 10% of your body weight for optimal sleep. Weighted blankets mimic a tight hug by using beads or other weighted material. Try using a weighted blanket to help ease your mind and sleep through the night.

Make some noise.
For some, a silent room is not the best place to catch some Zzzs. Add some white noise, quiet music, or nature sounds with a noise machine or a bluetooth speaker. A little background noise can help you relax and fall asleep with your mind clear. Take a cue from babies and play some lullabies to fall asleep. Lullaby versions of popular rock songs can help you relax with a smile as you fall asleep.
Diffuse some oils.
Essential oils can provide a relaxing scent and health benefits at night. Be careful to choose a reputable company that uses natural ingredients. Synthetic blends may scent the air, but they won’t help you fall asleep naturally. Try oils or blends that include lavender or vanilla for a full night’s sleep. Whole room diffusers will keep running for 4-8 hours of your sleep cycle.
Read a book.
Reading is one of the most relaxing activities you can do. Open a light novel to help you wind down after a busy day. Even though ebooks are great alternatives to paperback and hardbound copies, keep the Kindle plugged in for the daytime to keep the unnatural light away and get some rest.
