I can still hear my mother’s words to this day. Growing up, she tried to instill the importance of having a savings to my sisters and I. Not just with her words but with her actions.
We all had bank accounts early and would take bi-weekly trips to deposit a portion of our allowance earned from completing additional chores around the house.
Each month I meet with a group of DIVAs in Columbia, South Carolina as part of The Divatude Challenge – our on-going focus on SMART goals within our personal and professional lives. One discussion that comes up fairly regularly with new participants is stopping negative behavior.
I am a huge proponent of positive self-talk. Often we talk ourselves out of doing great things before we even get started!
