A friend posted this Chinese proverb on his Facebook timeline this morning and it’s been speaking volumes to me today. I’m involved in quite a few projects this year and at times it can be overwhelming and I’ll be the first to admit that I can have my “moments”. The projects that are the most successful and prosperous at this time are the ones where the people involved all work together for the common good the best. We have our disagreements from time-to-time but we’re able to discuss things civilly, respect each others points of view and even re-evaluate our perspectives when necessary. This is vital to any group or organization that’s attempting to accomplish anything.
Successful Teamwork Depends on Individual Efforts
Being a part of a team can be a rewarding experience if you’re willing to give 100% when needed. We all have lives and other responsibilities – but if you commit to a task you should be willing and able to follow through with it in a timely manner. If obstacles come up, then we must be able to ask for assistance and/or guidance. Becoming overwhelmed and not giving your all brings down the productivity and morale of the team as a whole. Friendships, partnerships and teams can be adversely affected – sometimes permanently changing the dynamics of how everyone works with one another. I’m excited about the wonderful, empowering projects on the horizon for Divas With A Purpose, Incorporated and for me in my personal life as well. I enjoy being a part of a team, giving back and learning from others. I often learn more about myself in the process and always grow in some aspect.
Harmony in Teamwork
Striving to work in harmony with others includes actively listening and engaging in conversations that benefit the general good of the team; putting personal aspirations and desires to the side at times; sacrificing your time – all of this and more helps create a successful team atmosphere that can help us accomplish so much to benefit our families and communities.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Divas!

Good points! I am bad about asking for help when I need it, so this was a good reminder.

I definitely like applying this to a family unit. Since my husband and I also work together it is very important – especially keeping the friendship in the partnership and keeping the partnership “out” of the friendship. Great post – TALU

I completely agree that successful projects are accomplished when the people involved are working together for the common good

Teamwork can be so frustrating when everyone is going in different directions! Such a powerful message that you should share with congress:)

I’m not exactly part of a team. But I have goals for our family to be more harmonious and spend more time together.

Thanks for commenting Joyce! Many of these suggestions can and should be applied to the first (and most important) team that most of us are a part of – our families
