Happy Thursday Divas! Today is an extra special Thankful Thursday here on Divas With A Purpose…
My youngest son has been counting down to this day since Christmas morning. He is a huge fan of birthday celebrations and has been reminding us on a very regular basis that he is almost six years old. I have no idea what his fascination with six is, but ever since he was four he could not wait for this day.
This has been his first year of true change and adjustment. We started kindergarten in the fall and it has been amazing to see him come into his own. It was rough for his little sister to be separated from him for the first time, but they are both doing just fine.
While, as parents, we try not to have “favorites” with our children, I have to admit that there are favorite qualities that I am drawn to with each of my children. With my youngest son, it is definitely his infectious smile and giving spirit. He is constantly looking out for his siblings – if he gets a treat, he makes sure he snags one for each of them or he will save a portion of his for them to share. I love this and pray that this stays with him as he grows and matures. It reminds me of the love and care my grandmother instilled in her children and grandchildren.
How fitting…as today, I, also, pause to reflect and remember her. My grandmother. I do not believe in coincidences, so I truly believe that Bradley was sent to me on her birthday for a reason – to remind me that her life, legacy and love will carry on for generations to come. Happy Birthday to her as she rests in peace and enjoys her heavenly reward.
Enjoy your day, Divas and remember to pause and give thanks today!

Happy Birthday! I know what you mean about the grandparent connection. My grandmother passed away a few weeks before my son was born, but fortunately she felt blessed to be able to "know" him as we shared the name ahead of time. Family heritage is generational, and our children will carry forward the virtues we teach them (that we, in turn, learned from our parents and grandparents).
