This week I’m participating in a Mini Blog Challenge Party hosted by Rx Fitness Lady.
It’s been almost 4 years since I began blogging – quite by accident, I have to admit. Throughout those years I’ve learned lots about myself and the wonderful women that I’ve had the privilege of connecting with.
This past year or so, I’ve really focused on my “why” for blogging. I had to go back to that very first post and remember what it was I was feeling. What motivated me to put those words down on paper and what was my vision. As with any plan, there has to be room for growth. There has to be room for change and evolution. For those of you that have been a part of DWP from the beginning (or close to it), you can attest to the fact that I’ve done quite a bit of all of the above.
I’ll be honest with you, over the next few months there may be some additional change and growth as I spread my wings and truly step out on faith with some things that are festering in my journals and those posts that have been created but just not quite finished and ready to post yet.
As I prepare for my first community event in Columbia, SC – I’m truly stepping out on faith and taking the principles and beliefs of Divas With A Purpose and bringing them home. I’ll be honest, it’s sometimes easier to share and connect with the blogging world and the world wide web than those I come face-to-face with on a regular basis. Fellow blogger Whitney from Cafe Mocha Reflections said something to me when we got to meet last month that was true confirmation for me on ideas and plans that had been tugging at my mind and heart but for numerous reasons, I just wasn’t able to take that next step to bring them to reality. Yeah, I was missing the ACTION in my Divatude! It was Whitney’s words of encouragement that helped prompt me to go forward with the Celebration of Friendship I’ll be hosting next month.
Divas With A Purpose was started to become a source of information for women to connect with, learn from, inspire and motivate one another. I want to do more of that through my blog and social media outlets, but live and in person, as well. If you’re reading these words, I want to thank you. You have helped shaped Divas With A Purpose to be what it is and what it will be. You have helped to mold the vision and shape the foundation for my space of encouragement. Your presence and participation truly makes a difference and from the bottom of this diva’s heart I say THANK YOU!

You know, as a fellow DIVA (PartyPlanDivas.com is my baby) I can fully understand the lacking of ACTION in the Divatude from time to time. Kudos to Whitney for having the right words to push you along. And hmmm… I should go look at my first posts too…

Way to go on four years, that’s awesome! I too have to stop and go back to why I started blogging in the first place. Like going back to your roots.
