Decluttering is a long-term goal (and struggle) of mine. I strive to live a simpler, more focused and stream-lined life. It seems that my family is constantly on the go but when I reflect on what is truly being accomplished the trade-off does not seem to be balanced.
Have you ever longed to make your life simpler? What’s holding you back? For most of us, life is just too busy for such a major change. Secondly, many don’t even know what it truly is and where to start. It sounds like it should be easy to figure out but there is more to it than just saying you want to minimize your life.
Still, the idea of an existence where you have more time for the important things and fewer worries about money and stuff does sound quite good. Will the idea of it fit with the reality of your life right now? That’s an important point to consider. Everyone isn’t ready to accept or implement simple living at the same time. You might be able to go “whole hog” right now while someone else needs to take a few steps and ease into a total transformation. There’s nothing wrong with that. It’s what works best for you.
The idea of simple living brings up many questions.
For one, does simple living mean turning off the electricity and returning to the life of the early settlers? Is it akin to the lives of the Doomsday preppers? The more you know about simple living, the more you will be able to make an informed decision about it and also what it means to your life. Just like any other new idea, it can be overwhelming at first until you break it down into manageable pieces and take it one step at a time.
This week on the blog, I am going to be focusing on what simple living means to our family.. First, I will let you know what it is and then discuss how you can implement it in your life. We’ll talk about the benefits of simple living, how you can get started today, how to go from much to little and how to live a productive and satisfying life while practicing simple living techniques.
