Hard to believe that January is over! The first month of 2015 is coming to an end. When I reflect on the month, I am amazed at how much has been jammed into this month. My focus word for 2015 is being INTENTIONAL and for January many of my activities centered around compiling my SMART goals and establishing a routine and accountability for them.

Recently, I had the opportunity to chat with an awesome diva with a job that many of us usually do not think of when we think of entrepreneurial women. She currently has a very lucrative construction business. Yes, you read that correctly. During our conversation she stressed that for women it is possible to build a career in construction.
Often there’s a stereotypical image that comes to mind when we picture a “construction worker”
A great life doesn’t happen by chance. It’s the result of having goals and skillfully allocating your resources in order to reach them. These resources include your thoughts, time, and energy.
Ultimately, a great life comes from taking the 24 hours you’re given each day and using them in a wise manner. This is more effective than just dealing with the next item on your endless list of chores or reacting to what’s happening around you.
My oldest son has been reminding me about the premier of Spongebob: Sponge Out Of Water on February 6th on a very regular basis. He has even recruited his younger siblings to help with friendly reminders and not-so-subtle clues that we need to have a family outing to the theater that weekend to see one of his favorite shows on the big screen.
He was first introduced to the walking, talking, sea sponge by my younger sisters when he was a toddler and his fascination with it has stuck over the years.

Encouraging and teaching my teen son to give back to our community is a priority for me. We live in a society that seems to focus on material items – having more, getting more and being more. As we prepare for high school next year, reality is setting in that before I know it my “baby” will be leaving the nest.

I have had a blog for almost six years, but have only been actively blogging for the past 2-3 years. I differentiate between the two because there is a difference between writing words and publishing to the world wide web and the craft of blogging.
Blogging is a simple process but a lot of work. While it is not hard to post to your blog, getting the traffic and the revenue from your blog that you desire is a tougher proposition.
