In honor of Mother’s Day next weekend, this week’s Friendship Friday is all about Motherhood!!!

Questions of the Week:
What do you love most about your mother?

Do you have any special Mother’s Day traditions?
What are your favorite childhood memories of your mom?
Are you looking forward to being a mother or grandmother?
What do you love most about being a mom?
How has motherhood changed you?
Do you have any tips for mothers-to-be?
What are the best (and worst) Mother’s Day gifts you’ve received?

10 years ago, if someone told me that I’d be married with 3 kids…I would have laughed in their face.  Four years ago, after the birth of my youngest son, if you’d told me I’d be pregnant again…I would say absolutely, positively NOT.  But here I am, with my 3 beautiful babies and I couldn’t imagine life any differently.  I love their uniqueness and their unconditional love and trust. I love (and am humbled by) that as their mother, I’ve been entrusted with caring for, nurturing and loving them to be the best that they can be and accepting them for who they are.

I’ve always been a nurturing person, but motherhood helped take that to a totally different level.  I would literally lay down my life for my children if I had to.  The moment I held my oldest son in my arms for the first time, I realized I was no longer living for just myself but that every choice and thought I had would affect him in some shape, form or fashion.  I wouldn’t change a thing.

My mother gave me the best foundation on how to be a great mother.  If I’m a fraction of the person, the mother, the confidante, the prayer warrior, the motivator that she is – my children will still be magnificently blessed.  I didn’t appreciate just how much she sacrificed until I became a mother. I didn’t realize just how much the not-so-smart decisions that I made hurt her until I had children and realized that one day they, too, will do something to crush my heart and spirit – but I will continue to love and uplift them through it all.

***To get us in the celebration spirit of Mother’s Day, one commenter will win a Mother’s Day Pampering Pack filled with goodies. Winner will be picked at 10 PM EST on Sunday, May 6, 2012***
