Married life, children, a career, community service…that’s just the beginning of the list of responsibilities that I have. At some point not too long after my youngest son was born I realized I was just floating along. I was unhappy. I was doing “things” but nothing that truly brought me joy or a sense of purpose. I felt ashamed to admit it because I had a beautiful family, a great job and all the things that seemingly should have made me happy and fulfilled.
Nights out with our friends are one of life’s little pleasures.
I don’t know about you, but it isn’t often that we get to have all the girls together to glam up and go out, away from our everyday responsibilities. Scandal is one of those shows that I really didn’t want to like but can’t help but love it. The writing is fantastic and the actors make this show! There are so many underlying “issues” with the characters and as you watch, the layers unravel and you’re left saying “wow!”. They address real-life issues such as infidelity and sexual assault.
September is International Women’s Friendship Month. Each year, Divas With A Purpose joins in the celebration as one of our core focuses is fostering positive and uplifting relationships among women.
International Women’s Friendship Month was started in 1999 by the Kappa Delta Sorority to remind women of the important role that our women friend play in our lives. Those relationships can truly sustain and empower us throughout our lives.
Throughout the year,
